GPA Afek Energy Ltd. (the Afek Power Plant) is in its advanced stages of planning and licensing for the construction of
a power plant in Kibbutz Afek, located in the northern part of Israel, 140 km from Jerusalem.
The power plant’s output is planned to reach up to 5 MW of electricity, providing
all the electricity and energy needs of Kibbutz Afek and the industrial consumers in the kibbutz.
Excess power, if any, will be sold to other consumers through the Electric Company grid.
Founded in 1935 Kibbutz Afek is located in the Zebulun Valley, after relocating to its current site in 1948.
The kibbutz’s economy is based on industry and agriculture.
