Ashkelon Power Ltd. (Ashkelon Power Plant) is in its advanced stages of planning for a power plant on the International Beer Breweries Ltd.
(Carlsberg) plant, located in the Ashkelon Industrial Zone, 75 km from Jerusalem.
The power plant will operate using the trigeneration method (CCHP – Combined Cooling, Heating and Power) with a planned
output of up to 8.2 MW of electricity. It will provide all the electricity and thermal energy needs of Carlsberg and other consumers
in the Ashkelon Industrial Zone. Excess power, if any, will be sold to other consumers through the Electric Company conduction grid
Israel Beer Breweries Ltd.:
Israel Beer Breweries Ltd., also known as MBI, is an Israeli company, part of the Central Company for the Production
of Soft Drinks (Coca-Cola). It manufactures beer and soft drinks as well as imports and markets beer.
MBI was founded in 1992 to market Carlsberg and Tuborg beer products in Israel.
The factory employs 320 workers.
