Mishmar Hanegev Energy Center Ltd. (Mishmar Hanegev Power Plant) is in its advanced stages of planning
and licensing for the construction of a power plant in Kibbutz Mishmar Hanegev,
located in the southern part of Israel, 85 km from Jerusalem.
The power plant will operate using the cogeneration method (CHP – Combined Heat and Power) with a planned
output of up to 0.6 MW of electricity. It will provide all the electricity and energy needs of Kibbutz Mishmar Hanegev
and the nearby industrial consumers. Excess power, if any, will be sold to other consumers through the Electric
Company conduction grid.

Kibbutz Mishmar Hanegev is built on two hills located two km south of the Garar Valley and the
outskirts of Rahat, 20 km north of Beersheba. The kibbutz’s economy is based on industry and agriculture,
with two factories manufacturing polystyrene products (Polybid and Polybed).
